Masai Mara
Masai Mara: 3 Days, 2 Nights
Masai Mara stands out as the best wildlife reserve in Kenya. The name ‘Mara’ means spotted as the croton bushes and shrubs found in the reserve are scattered and appear like dark spots over the grasslands which over most of the seasons look like golden fields.
At any point of the year, the Masai Mara has abundant of wildlife which includes lions, wildebeest, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, warthogs, vultures, storks, topis, hartebeests, impalas, buffaloes, hyenas, jackal’s amongst others. However, the park is world renowned for its annual wildebeest migration which takes place from June to October.
During this period, millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate from the dry Serengeti plains of Tanzania through the crocodile infested Mara river.
Day 1:
08:00hrs – Depart for Masai Mara.
- Enjoy the amazing landscape of Masai country and the plains that host the herds of God. Animals to look for in the Mara include; spotted hyenas, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, giraffe, impalas, wild beast, eland, topi, jackals and many more.
09:30hrs - Stop at the Rift valley Escarpment for guided view and sightseeing
- The Escarpment is amazingly clear with volcanic formations like Mt Longonot at sight.
13:30hrs – Arrival at hotel, check in then lunch.
14:00hrs – Depart for evening game drive in the Park.
- Good time to look for cats and learn the landscape to be covered in the next day.
18:30hrs - Return to hotel for dinner and resting.
Day 2:
08:00hrs – Depart hotel for full day Game drive.
13:00hrs – Lunch at Mara River.
- Good time to witness the migration as well as see the Nile crocodiles as the either hunt or sunbathing.
14:00hrs – Continue with game drive
17:30hrs - Check in back to hotel for dinner.
Day 3:
08:00hrs – Depart for Masai manyatta.
10:00hrs - Depart for Nairobi.
17:00hrs - Arrive in Nairobi around and trip summary.
